[Mishmash] FTC On The Job

 i've not received any telemarketers either since that came into effect.  i
do get them tho from charities (and i'm not real sure all those were really
legit charities) and the credit cards i already own.  boy, they sure pounce
quickly on new phone numbers tho.  i have set up many offices in the last 2
years and gotten new phone numbers for them.  the telemarketers call almost
before i kniow myself what the new numbers are.
 
i've never gotten any of those pop-ups that demand money either - have I
just been lucky?  or is my spyware working well?  or isn't this really a big
problem.  it certainly would be a big problem if one downloaded any of those

    So, the FTC is on the job.
 
    A while back, Bob Bulmash of Private Citizen, Inc. called me because a
reporter wanted to speak to one of his PCI members about how well the
National Do Not Call (NDNC) list is working.  He conferenced me up and I
told him that I haven't gotten a telemarketing call in well over a year.
Apparently the reporter believed that the NDNC list isn't doing the job.  It
took some of the wind out of his sails.
