[Mishmash] FOX News Video: Flag Fight

Fred, the two cases you are pointing out have a great deal in
common. They both deal
with the question of whether this is a nation of laws, or of whims
and popularity
contests.

In the first case we have a president who feels he should be able to
violate the law
if he finds it convenient to do so, despite a court finding (sure to
be appealed) to
the contrary. Note that the link you provided pointed out that the
government refused
to defend the necessity of obtaining warrants, saying the reasons
were "secret."

In the second case, we have some people who feel it is OK to violate
the law if what
they are doing is "patriotic". Is breaking the law patriotic?

Shields up. Let the flame wars begin. :-)

(Or is anybody here besides me old enough to remember what a flame war is?)

Dick
