[Mishmash] WCU Marching Band

 really enjoyed it fred.  my grandson (a senior) gave up football this year
to be the drum major of our high school band. he also has a trumpet solo in
the field show - has to jump down from the director's stand to play it and
then climb back up when he's thru.  i love to go to the field competitions -
i think they'll be in about 5 this year.  also been spending a lot of time
at parades.  he really missed the band last year when he couldn't be in the
half-time shows.  when he was a fresh and soph he didn't have to go to the
locker room during half time so he was able to do the band thing.   i was
certainly surprised tho when he decided to direct the band instead of
playing football.  he is hoping to go to a college with a really good
marching band.  i think he's going to be a music educator major - but not
sure cause his mother wants him to do something that will make more money. 
lol.  of course, i'm pushing the music thing.  i'm much more proud to see
him leading the band out than i ever was seeing him play football
(especially since i could never see where he was).  in fact i get a lump in
my throat everytime..................  i will show him your movie.
