Hugh,

This individual came over with his family when he was 8 years old.  His 
family started a business and were productive members of our society. 
Obviously, a visa or work permit did not apply to this person.  My brother 
came over with my parents from Holland when he was 10.  Should he have had a 
visa or work permit.  BTW, he is almost 58 years old and became a citizen 
less than 10 years ago.  Prior to that he was still a Dutch National.  Using 
your logic, my brother should have been deported for not having the correct 
papers before he was even done with elementary school.
