[Mishmash] North Carolina Fisherman Catches Piranha

I missed the piranha movie. I don't miss piranha hereabouts. We've
had our share of snakeheads, though. A summer or two ago one was
discovered in a small pond near here. For weeks the newspapers
talked about the fish with lungs that could walk on dry ground (over
limited distances of course.) There was concern they would go
traipsing from the pond into a nearby stream that eventually emptied
into the Potomac. The pond was poisoned to kill the snakeheads and
everything else in it.

Since then, the have been discovering snakehead fish in the Potomac
periodically. They obviously got there somehow, whether from that
pond or not, and are doing quite nicely, thank you. They're
predators and have nothing around here to kill them, not even
piranha. But at least they're edible, and considered quite a
delicacy in some parts of the world I understand.
