Fred,
I don't remember much about Bell promos in elementary school but GE passed out regular stacks of very informative comic books about lighting and motorized electrical devices. These and their 16 mm films actually taught me a good bit such as calculating watts and how transformers work. GE seems to be continuing their educational tidbits in locomotive, wind power generation and jet engine TV commercials with environmental conservation overtones. I laud them loudly for their educational freebies.
BTW GE, DuPont and Ford seem to be among the few US companies that still survive in their near-original forms. Sure, we still see brand names such as RCA but they're just shells as licensed brand names. I'm not counting GM because they've always been a conglomerate of overtaken smaller manufacturers.
This is not just a US phenomenon because I can name dozens of famous British, German and even Korean companies that have met the same fate.

Bill,
I remember it, too. Also, I remember a lot of movies that Bell used to give the schools. We got to see a lot of them when I was in elementary school down in Florida.
Hope you are all right.
Regards,
Fred
