fred - i'm thinking there is a HUGE portion of the population who no longer
remember or care about 9/11. are we not wanting our troops out of the
middle east no matter what the consequences? are we not wanting the
terrorists at guantanamo to be treated to the rights of ordinary american
criminals? are we not bending over backwards to be politically correct to
all muslims? are we not blaming america for all the bad feelings others
might have for us? give me a break - this country mourned and remembered
9/11 for about 2 weeks. the attention span of this country is about 3 days.
patriotism is a thing of the past i'm afraid...............................
...or for a couple days after they attack us again on our soil.

I just don't believe that this country is ready to elect someone with
Muslim ties, in view of Muslim ties to 9/11.

Fred

i really don't believe that i am defending osamabama - but you have a couple
things wrong. he WAS muslim - his father is muslim and he did attend a
madras (sp?) until i think the 4th or 6th grade when he moved to hawaii with
his mother. he then or sometime later converted to christianity. he has
not changed his name. now - that is all i'm gonna say to defend him. there
are far more urgent reasons for him to not be president than his muslim
background - but i must say, i don't want anyone in the white house who even
has a small amount muslim background.

I know I shouldn't feel this way, but even with a border separating us, I
find the thought of a muslim in the White House very disturbing. Also, did
I not read somewhere in the mists of time that Obama had originally been
Christian and had abandoned his given names to take a name in keeping with
his muslim faith? On the evening news yesterday he said that his father
is/was from Kenya where muslims are strong. Years ago I wouldn't have given
any of this a second thought now it causes me great concern.
