[Mishmash] Can it really be?????

i have never left a designated smoking area and puffed away. that would be
just rude. what i'm complaining about is that in illinois there are no
longer any designated smoking areas anywhere - anywhere at all - private
clubs included. my husband owned a quarry and would not have been allowed
to smoke in his own office because someone might walk in the front door -
and all those who did walk in that front door also were smokers. the
outside patio at my private golf course is small and one cannot get 15 feet
away from a door or window and still sit in a chair. so, no longer do
smokers have any choice as non-smokers always had before this law. but, hey
i'm almost used to it now after only 6 days. wonder if i'd have gotten
used to the cattle cars in 6 days. you see, i've always been a courteous
smoker and have not smoked around those it bothered (however, i have very
few friends that it bothered but do have quite a few who don't want smoking
in their homes - even ones who smoke strange as that seems) never smoked in
those homes, gone outside when that was the alternative even in -0 weather
(i think that makes us smokers healthier actually - i don't get colds
anymore). it's just that i don't like our damn governor telling us what to
do with personal life. if he doesn't like smokers he shouldn't like fat
people or people who drink (now that is a health hazard to all) or maybe
even people who swear - but then he does all those things. when i went to
private homes, clubs, restaurants, etc. that did not allow smoking i didn't
smoke; i don't need yet another law infringing on my rights. he (the gov.
and the rest of the left wing) even tries to tell us how we should think -
altho they haven't been able to figure out how to draw up that law yet.

But what about those smokers imposing their values on the non-smokers
because that's what's happening when they leave designated smoking areas and
start puffing away.
