It is pretty hard to imagine anyone making remarks like these . . . they bring back memories of my luggage not being lost by American Airlines a few months ago. "Your suitcase is not lost, Mr. Gigante" said the Executive Platinum special services rep. "We just can't find it."
Leno and Letterman don't need writers . . .they just need ears!

I pay my taxes direct.
This is how my conversation with our local town tax department went:
Me: "I don't have a bill for this quarter's taxes."
Clerk: "They have not been sent out yet."
Me: "Aren't they due on January 10th?"
Clerk: "Yes."
Me: "Can you tell me the amount so I cvan pay it?"
Clerk: "No. You can't pay without the bill."
Me: "When will bills be sent?"
Clerk: "later this month."
Me: "Will there be a late fee."
Clerk:" Of course. All the taxes will be paid late because we sent the bills out late. The law says we must charge a late fee if they are paid late."
Me: "Who made that law".
Clerk: "We did."
There really should be a license people need before they are allowed to breed!

Ya know, it's really hard to believe that anybody could be stupid enough to make those remarks.
If the amount of the late fee is big enough, you might be tempted to get a good lawyer and
stick it in their ears. You'd probably have a lot of people happy to join in the suit. This
is the sort of thing that gives class action a good name. :-)
