in actuality he's a mulatto - he rushed open armed to embrace the heritage
and color of a muslim father who abandoned his family when Obama was young -
he was brought up by white grandparents because his mother was mentally
ill - and suddely he's the first black president of America? If these
facts are correct, doesn't anyone find it disburbing on some level?

    Not in itself.

> As for free health care, lower taxes, etc. - I live in a country that has
all these and it is bleeding us dry. We have one of the largest tax bases
in the world and still there's not enough money to go around. All this
sounds good in theory, but it doesn't work - someone pays for all this
"free" health care and that's the man on the street. In this system of free
health care, I have a friend diagnosed with lung cancer in November - she
has a TENTATIVE date for surgery in February - there's everyone on "free"
running to doctors for every ache and pain and no money left to pay for
enough hospitals or people to staff them. And once you're 65, the entire
system works on the theory that the sooner you shuffle off this mortal coil
and make room for another tax payer, so much the better. This is no "first
come first served" system - older people are left to wait for care when
younger ones are given priority.

    This does not surprise me.

> As for diplomatic outreach to the Middle East - the taliban, hamas, etc.,
want a muslim world - they don't now, nor did they ever, want peace. We've
got Liberal (akin to Democrats) politicians here in Canada saying the same
thing - time they gave their heads a shake and faced reality - peace is not
what the terrorists want.

I believe this is true. I am always wondering about the Muslims. If
they really believe that what those terrorists are doing is wrong, then why
aren't they more vocal about it?

> There is a Canadian citizen in Gitmo by the name of Omar Khadr. He was
arrested for killing a U.S. soldier when he was 15 - he's 22 now - Obama put
off his trial just as it was about to start
(http://www.cbc.ca/world/story/2009/01/13/f-omar-khadr.html) The bleeding
heart liberals want him brought back to Canada for trial - that will be a
farce as our legal system is joke. The leader of the Liberal party in
Canada said the other night he should be brought back to Canada and
integrated back into Canada society! (No mention of a trial.) There a lot
of us up here don't want him back, let alone "integrated". His family is a
notorious supporter of the taliban, his father (killed in a battle) was a
friend of Bin Laden's and a major fundraiser in Canada for Bin Laden - the
whole family spent time (and training) in Bin Laden's camp - one brother of
Khadr's was paralized in a gun fight - he's now back in Canada where our
"free" health care is going to support him for the rest of his life.
Khadr's mother and sister were interviewed on our national t.v. network
praising their sons and wishing jihad on the world.

Sadly, this doesn't surprise me, either.

> It's fine to say he was only 15 when the events occurred but all that
indoctrination is part and parcel of him now - and if he's released back
into Canada, his mother and the rest of his family will only reinforce it.
He's dangerous and shouldn't ever be released - and he's a minor player on
the stage that Omba wants to make peace ovetures to.

I can't argue with you there.
