[Mishmash] Star Trek

    With apologies to 'Dances with Wolves', I have SEEN STAR TREK.  

    It was not one of the best Star Trek stories, but it was not bad.  The computer animation and special effects were terrific.  

    However, I think that they lost site of the fact that Star Trek was always about the story more than the special effects.  

    I won't spoil it for any of you by divulging the details, but they are taking the path of 'changing the rules'.  I guess it opens up a lot of new possibilities.  

    Leonard Nimoy's cameo appearances (he appears twice in the movie) were very good.  It was a pleasure seeing him in action again.  

    But I was disappointed there weren't a few more cameo appearances by some of the surviving actors.  

    I had to work a little bit to recognize all of the actors.  The one that played Uhura was only recognizable because she was black and attractive.  Other than that, I wouldn't have recognized her character.
