  Speaking of old entertainment I recently discovered Edith Piaf. She was a little French singer who was immensly popular on a worldwide scale.  I had known about her for a long time but didn't take the time to listen to any of her work.  Whatta mistake!.  She sang in English as well as French.  Her English recordings have a very heavy accent but are perfectly understandable.  Many of the songs that originated with her became huge hits by other artists here;
  examples include Autumn Leaves, Hymn To Love, The Three Bells and of course La Vie En Rose.

  Try Googling plays of these for samples; The Three Bells will knock your socks off especially at the very end!

  Wow, no wonder the French people were and are proud of her. When she died rather young in 1963 every copy of every recording sold out overnight in Paris and 100,000 showed up at her home.

  45 and 78 singles are on eBay for very high prices but LPs, cassettes, CDs and even DVDs can be dug out for reasonable costs.
