Dick,

     The dimensions on the yard are 100' wide by approximately 200' long. 
It is not perfectly rectangular, though.

     There is a work shop out near the back of the property.  It doesn't
have electricity or it might make a good ham shack.  But I've got a
ham buddy here who is a retired electrician.  He says he might be
willing to help me run power to it from the house.  As long as we dig
a trench, I'd run telephone wire and an Internet run out there as
well.

     I was amazed at what it appraised for after we settled on a price for
the house.  It appraised at $18k more than I am paying for it.  After
the ten per cent down payment, it left me with a pretty substantial
equity just to begin with.

     As far as putting up antenna towers (or flagpoles, for that matter),
you need a permit from the city or county to do it in this area.  The
reason is that the winds are very strong around here and we have them
from time to time (sixty mph is not unusual).  They usually want them
to be strong enough to withstand ninety or one hundred mph winds.

     The police have a Code Enforcement department.  If you let your grass
grow and look ratty, you'll probably get a knock on your door.  If
you are a repeat offender, they will probably issue you a citation.

     And if you put up any signs that don't meet the code, or make any
changes that don't meet the code, you'll probably get cited as well.
