Fred,

The temperature may read 92 here, but with the humidity added in, the heat
index has been around 106 for weeks and weeks.  This has been the hottest
summer that I remember in a long time.  It's hard to imagine 87 in Minn
though.

Well, 

    I just checked the weather in all three places.  It's 81 degrees in
Sylva, NC (where I live), 87 degree in Eagan, MN (where I am now), but it's
92 degrees in Gadsden, AL.  

    Is that why you are all so quiet down there?
