[Rebels1972] truckers

John,

No, your're right. They should take more responsibility for their drivers. Like the driver, they get paid by the mile. Many of them (under the table, of course) encourage their drivers to exceed their limits.

Not a good thing for anyone.

Susan and the rest of the '72 Rebel Gang: I've been out of town for 5 days for the Southern Baptist Convention in Greensboro, NC. Just checked my e-mails and the topic is quite relevant since I was run off I-85 in South Carolina by an 18-wheeler switching lanes on me illegally. Thankfully, I did not wreck the van and I am ok.... except for a few frazzled nerves. Granted, there are terrible drivers who are NOT truckers. I have to confess that I have the same opinion as Susan. About the only truckers I trust these days are the UPS, FED-EX and Wal-Mart drivers because they seem to be less dangerous than the others. Could it be that these corporations take more responsibility for their drivers? Oh well... I could have opened another "can of worms" here. lol Ya'll take care now! John Dale Rector
