Hello Fred ! I have just returned from Memphis & the drive is GREAT. The new ( corridor x ) as it is called until completion, is
fine. From Bham, take 78 for about 35 min. to just before Jasper & the new Road takes you all the way to Memphis. Good luck & let me know how your trip goes. Off to work now. Safe Journey, Coop !!!

  Folks, 

      Hope everyone is OK.  I wish everyone wasn't so quiet.  

      Can you tell me how driveable the road is from Birmingham to Memphis via 78?  

      I am going to my niece's wedding in Memphis next Saturday.  Mapquest says to drive all the way up to Nashville on I75 and then taking I40 west to Memphis.  

      This way is more direct and I love being in 'Bama.  

      If I do drive and go this way (I haven't ruled out taking the bus or flying yet), then mabye I could meet one or more of you somewhere for dinner on the way back on Saturday night.
