Thanks for sharing, Fred. I'll bet that if Gadsden High Students knew about
that marker years ago, they would have decorated it before a big game.

Subject: [Rebels1972] I Found The Marker

Folks,

I was driving back from Columbia, SC to Marietta, GA and I stopped in
Social Circle, GA on the way back.

I had been attempting to locate the marker that honors Emma Sansom (she
was born in Social Circle, GA). Today with some help from a local lady, I
located it. I took several pictures of it. I haven't reviewed all of them
but so far this one looks like the best one.

If you drive to exit 98 on I-20 and turn north on highway 11, you'll go
several miles. When you see the signs that say "Walton County, Social
Circle, City Limit, Mile 0", you have found the marker (look at the second
picture of the signs. You'll notice the Emma Sansom marker is in the
background). If you go all the way into the town of Social Circle, you
missed it.

    Enjoy,

Fred Atkinson
