Folks,

This is about the Christmas show I mentioned in Sunday School today.

It is entitled 'Ebbie'. 'Ebbie' is short for Elizabeth [Scrooge]. She works in corporate America, has a female assistant named Roberta Cratchit (Wendy Crewson, who was a perfect choice for this role) [who has a physically impaired son named 'Tim'] and a dead partner by the name of 'Jake' Marley (Jeffrey DeMunn, who was terrific in the role). Her departed sister and [later in the show] her niece [both roles] were played by Molly Parker.

Ebbie is played by Susan Lucci. She really outdid herself in the role of Elizabeth 'Ebbie' Scrooge.

Jake shows up to haunt her and give her a chance to redeem herself before she suffers his ill-fated afterlife. Then she is haunted by Christmas spirits and you can fill in the blanks from there.

It is a heart warming, modern day rendition of 'A Christmas Carol' and is well worth watching.

I incorrectly said it would be run on Saturday of next week.

It will be run on the Hallmark Channel on Sunday of next week. According to the schedule on the Hallmark Channel, it will be run at 3 PM MST and again at 9 PM MST.

It is well worth watching and will bless your heart. It was filmed in 1995 by Lifetime Television and has become one of my favorite Christmas shows. I put it up there with 'Miracle on 34th Street' and 'It's a Wonderful Life' (also favorites of mine).

Here's a link to a picture of 'Ebbie' and a brief description of the show: http://www.mylifetime.com/movies/ebbie .

On a scale of one to ten, I'll give it a fifteen.

    Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

    Regards,

                                                                        Fred
