Greetings, everyone,

I just wanted to let you all know that I probably will not be at
church on Sunday due to my hospitalization last night.

I developed a nasty kidney infection with three large stones. I was
on a catheter all night.

I had been to the emergency room once, given medication, and sent
home. I saw my urologist the following day.

I returned to work yesterday morning and I was feeling fine when I
arrived at 8:30 AM. By 9:30 AM, I had an ache in my side. By 10:30
AM, I was in terrible pain.

I was going to drive myself to the hospital but my manager and my
H.R. lady would not allow it. They had the ambulance at our location
transport me to the hospital.

After my visit in the emergency room, my urologist (who was
directing them by telephone) instructed them to admit me. They fully
anaesthetized me later when the doctor came to the hospital to
perform the procedure.

I spent the night in relative peace since I had been so heavily
medicated. They kept me through the morning and sent me home. I
have to return as an outpatient on Tuesday to complete their treatment.

The folks at work have been terrific. They took my car keys from me
when they put me in the ambulance and dropped my car at my
apartment. My boss came by tonight to bring me my bifocals (I was
wearing my computer reading glasses when I left for the hospital)
that I left on my desk (I'll need them as soon as I start driving
again). He says he is going to see if he can get me some short term
disability for this so I don't have to burn my sick leave. As you
can tell from my remarks, we have some terrific folks at the White
Sands Complex. They take care of each other.

Karen Jakeway was kind enough to pick me up at the hospital and
drive me home to my apartment this afternoon.

I am at home on medication such as that will not allow me to drive
while taking it. And I haven't recovered well enough to be out and
about. So I will be at home until further notice.

I hope to return to church next Sunday and see all of you then.

Please keep my recovery in your prayers. I know he listens to
prayer and I know he listens to our Singles group. So your prayers
will go a long way towards speeding my recovery.

If anyone feels like calling me, my number is: 526-2541. I'm going
to be shut up in the apartment for the next few days and I would
welcome some phone company. If I seem a little 'out of it',when you
call, it's probably just the pain medication.

Leave a message with your phone number if I don't answer. I may be
indisposed when you call. I will call you back.

	In His Name,

								Fred
