Dear Friend,

If you’re like me, as the new year begins you probably find yourself wondering just what is going on in America.

Here are some examples of what I mean:

Last week, addressing a crowd of partisan supporters, the President of the United States proudly announced his plan to subvert the Constitution and sidestep Congress in his most recent “recess” appointments – when Congress wasn’t even in recess!

Just a day before, President Obama announced major cuts in our nation’s defense budget in favor of other domestic and international social programs – like funding Planned Parenthood and advocating homosexuality on the international stage.

Only a few months ago, the FCC took major steps to seize control of the Internet, a fact that was widely overlooked by the mainstream media.

Meanwhile, as it suits the President, the Department of Justice will not defend certain United States laws in court, thus refusing to perform their appointed duty under the Constitution. For instance, the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) has been “deemed” unconstitutional and indefensible by both President Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder.

++It seems America is unraveling at the seams.

Just days ago, a “lesbian kiss” by active duty military personnel was documented on a pier in Norfolk, Virginia, when one female sailor’s ship arrived in port and was greeted by another female sailor.  A photo of the “event” was widely distributed by the liberal media and is being seen as an iconic image of the “modern” Navy. This is the direct result of last year’s repeal of the military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy.

Of course, there is much more evidence of America’s decline to consider, like trillion dollar bailouts…an incomprehensible national debt…the ongoing appointment of unvetted “czars”… and the relentless expansion of government agencies and their intrusive actions and policies.

++These trends won’t end until they are strongly resisted.

Unless patriotic Americans rise up and confront the destruction of our liberties, our nation will rapidly “evolve” to the point of being completely unrecognizable!

As I have said many times before, our beloved nation is at a crossroads!  Thankfully, Liberty Counsel is uniquely positioned to derail the radical Left’s agenda.

As 2012 begins, it is already proving to be a “year of destiny” for the values and institutions Liberty Counsel promotes and defends.

This year, I firmly believe we will help defeat ObamaCare at the Supreme Court. We will defend DOMA and uphold the Constitution of the United States. And we have a good chance of rolling back the advance of same-sex “marriage,” starting with a reversal of New York state’s illegally adopted law recognizing such unions.

We will defend the uniquely American rights of free speech and religious freedom for citizens who face prosecution and persecution – free of charge – against deep-pocketed liberal organizations like the ACLU and other radical activists.

We will confront previously unimaginable attacks on our freedom of speech, our religious liberties, our freedom of association, and the right to address the issues of our day in public forums from a religious viewpoint.

But to win, we MUST be able to show up. We need to know that we have YOU standing with Liberty Counsel in 2012 to defend freedom as never before!  Can I count on you?

In fact, we believe the Members of the Liberty Counsel team are among the best-informed citizens in the nation as Liberty Counsel grows and meets the heightened challenges of 2012.

Now more than ever, the enemies of true liberty need to know that those of us who love liberty have not given up!
