[Singles] The Legend of Noccalula

     In view of Kathy's recent post about the Cherokee legend, I thought
I'd post the Legend of Noccalula.  Noccalula was an Indian princess
who's hand in marriage had been promised to the chief of another
tribe by her father.  Noccalula Falls is where she jumped to her
death on her wedding day because her father (the chief of the tribe)
would not let her marry the brave that she loved.

     The falls that she jumped over are in Gadsden, Alabama.  I lived
there a year and a half while I was in high school there.  I used to
visit those falls and even walk down under them while I was living
there.

     No one is really sure if this story is true or if it is just a legend.
