Former medical professionals, now serving in the House of Representatives, have thrown down the gauntlet against the Obama administration’s destruction of our God-given Freedom of Conscience through ObamaCare’s outrageous “mandates.”

Three Representatives have proposed an important bill that has stalled in committee and must be brought to a vote.

Former nurse and current Congresswoman Diane Black (R-TN), former practicing physician and current Congressman John Fleming, M.D. (R-LA), and Rep. Jeff Fortenberry (R-NE), are challenging the overt infringement of our Freedom of Conscience as “mandated” by ObamaCare.

They cosponsored the Health Care Conscience Rights Act (HCCRA) bill in the House – and all Americans who stand for life and the protection of our unalienable rights should rally behind this bill.  There are already 135 cosponsors of this vital legislation (131 Republicans and four Democrats).

Here are statements released by the three sponsoring legislators:

Representative Diane Black…

“Under the Obama administration, we have seen an unprecedented growth in the size and scope of government. The administration has leveraged its expansion of government to trample on the religious freedom of private individuals, hospitals, non-profits, businesses, churches and universities - forcing many Americans to make an impossible choice: either defy your religious convictions or break the law and face financially-crippling legal penalties.

As a nurse for more than 40 years, I am proud to introduce the Health Care Conscience Rights Act to protect religious freedom, disempower Obamacare, and stop the administration’s assault on Americans’ First Amendment rights.”

John Fleming, M.D., made this powerful statement…

“Speaking as a family physician who has treated thousands of patients during more than 30 years of practicing medicine, the integrity of the doctor-patient relationship is invaluable. Health care workers are dedicated to caring for their patients, and the religious freedom of these health care workers, and providers alike, must be protected.

No individual should be forced or coerced to perform an abortion. Likewise, neither non-profit nor for-profit businesses, universities, or other health care providers should be required to cover drugs that can lead to the destruction of human life. This legislation protects the First Amendment rights of the American health care community by allowing them to refuse to participate in procedures that violate their deeply held beliefs.”

These former medical professionals, now elected U.S. Representatives, know first-hand how destructive the ObamaCare mandates will be to medical professionals, to patient-provider care, and to those organizations forced into choosing between morality, religious conviction, and obedience to the law.

Representative Jeff Fortenberry added…

“We have come together to act to protect Americans' most basic rights - our rights of conscience and religious freedom. The bill simply restores the basic rights in health care that were widely accepted before the implementation of the new health care law.”

ObamaCare forces employers and individuals to provide and pay for unconscionable and immoral mandates, like funding mandatory abortifacient, sterilization, and contraception services through insurance plans.

One of ObamaCare’s most intrusive assaults on our liberty is the mandated provision of abortions and abortifacients (“morning after” pills, chemicals like Plan B, Ella, RU-486, and other death-dealing pharmaceuticals).

Kathy, as a signer of our petition/letter of support of the Health Care Conscience Rights Act (HCCRA), I am asking you to do two things today…

First, encourage your friends to stand behind this legislation. If the Obama administration succeeds in forcing faith-based institutions and individuals to violate their freedom of conscience, then our First Amendment guarantee of Freedom of Religion will be lost!

That’s why we need a groundswell of grassroots Americans to rise up and help derail ObamaCare’s unconstitutional mandates. You can provide this link to your friends – or post it on your social media pages like Facebook.
