America is spiraling out of control. The evidence of tyranny continues to mount: ObamaCare, Benghazi, the IRS targeting scandal, the Department of Justice improprieties, wire taps of the media, the monitoring of law abiding citizens’ phone calls, emails, and social networks, the imposition of immoral mandates, and the loss of religious freedom and the right of conscience.

Enough is enough! We must fight back now or we will certainly lose our freedom!

The American Revolution was born from the spiritual foundation of the Great Awakening. Pastors and patriots rose up to fight side by side. For such a time as this, Liberty Counsel is launching our new “Pastors and Patriots” initiative. I am calling on pastors and patriots across the nation to stand with us!

Rather than being discouraged at recent liberal gains in politics and our civil government, Liberty Counsel is redoubling our efforts to support pastors and impact our culture for good!

New England pastor Nathaniel Whitaker preached a stirring message before the outbreak of the Revolutionary War in which he said, “We sin against God and nature, when we tamely resign our rights to tyrants, or quietly submit to public oppressors, if it be in our power to defend ourselves.”

++We are living under a tyrannical government that is pushing America into the abyss.

Consider these indisputable facts:

  *   ObamaCare is the biggest expansion of the federal government in our lifetime. Senator Max Baucus (D-MT), one of ObamaCare’s chief architects, now calls it a “train wreck.” President Obama has shown he could care less about our religious freedom, and he has demonstrated an insatiable appetite for slaughtering children in the womb. ObamaCare is destroying our freedom and is forcing every American to fund abortion.

  *   The official narrative on Benghazi was changed from it being an obvious terrorist attack to putting blame an obscure YouTube video for one reason: Barack Obama wanted to be reelected.  That is also why the IRS scandal was kept quiet, even though it was known the IRS had been targeting conservative groups for many months before the 2012 election. Clearly, when the President said he would reward his friends and punish his enemies, he meant it!

  *   If wiretapping media reporters wasn’t bad enough, we now know that the Obama administration has been amassing a database containing the phone calls of every American. Some reports also say the government has been snooping on our emails, Twitter accounts, and social networks. And don’t forget, the Department of Homeland Security has been purchasing millions of rounds of ammunition, stockpiling tanks, and acquiring other military equipment.

Amidst all of this, an employee with the Department of Justice (DOJ) confidentially revealed to Liberty Counsel that the DOJ’s celebration of so-called “Gay Pride” includes a new policy of “silence is not an option.”

In other words, it is not good enough for DOJ employees to refrain from saying something against homosexuality and a host of other sexual perversions – they must now speak in favor of them!

Silence will be deemed discriminatory and will subject employees to discipline. And this is not limited to the DOJ – this radical new tactic spans the other federal agencies as well!

++We must take a stand against this tyranny before it is too late.

As I travel the country, I find the general sense is that America is spiraling out of control. Increasingly, outraged Americans are ready to stand up and fight. They tell me they are looking for leadership.

Looking back on the founding of this nation, it is clear that the Great Awakening gave birth to the American Revolution.  Spiritual renewal provided the foundation for the emergence of liberty in the civil body-politic. The sermons of pastors were literally the fuel for the American Revolution.

I believe the same can be true today. For many months, I have been praying and seeking counsel from pastors, ministry leaders, and lay leaders.  One key result is Liberty Counsel’s powerful new “Pastors and Patriots” program.

Because I was a pastor before entering law school, I firmly believe that the problem with America is spiritual.  And because the problem is spiritual, the answer is also spiritual in nature.

It is time for pastors and patriots alike to stand up. It is time for the Church to be the Church – God’s people must rise up!

Our new Pastors and Patriots initiative will encourage, educate, and mobilize pastors in critical states and regions throughout the country.

I recently toured 14 cities and met with key pastors in Florida who are part of our Pastors and Patriots network. We are diligently working to establish many other similar networks.

And we have a technical development team working on a digital mobilization platform to encourage and enable pastors and patriots to stand up and fight back!

Liberty Counsel is calling on every American who is concerned with the erosion our religious rights, the subversion of the rule of law, the immoral mandates being rammed down our collective throats, and an out-of-control government with a reckless President at the helm to come to the aid of our nation!

In short, we are looking for Pastors and Patriots who understand the times.
