Dear friend,

Higher taxes, smaller paychecks and soaring gas prices have most Americans angered and frustrated over the state of our energy policies. Since taking office, President Obama has made it clear that he is eager to wean American consumers from oil to embrace his “green energy” agenda.

         High gas and oil prices are precisely what Obama wants. Who can forget his response to CNBC’s John Harwood, when asked if high gas prices would provide an “incentive so that we do shift to alternative means of energy?”

         Obama responded, “I think that I would have preferred a gradual adjustment.” In other words, raise prices slowly -- but still raise them.

Obama’s energy policies are a job-killing, high-priced, low-return nightmare. That’s why I’ve just signed a national petition urging the President to “set American oil free!”

Specifically, I’m demanding Obama and Congress stop the blockade on North American energy production to further reduce our dependence on foreign oil; stimulate our economy by creating millions of U.S. jobs; and increase our oil supply, which will lower prices at the pump.

Furthermore, I support the immediate approval and construction of the Keystone pipeline, offshore drilling and the opening up of more federal lands for energy exploration and production.

In short, I reject Obama’s “green” agenda, and believe expanding our own domestic output should be the number-one priority of our nation’s energy policy.
