Although I have been in federal court fighting for parental rights today, I feel it is imperative to get this urgent message out to Liberty Counsel Action’s many friends and supporters.

As you doubtless know, President Obama and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid have taken the House of Representatives (the people‘s House) and the American people hostage by prioritizing the advancement of ObamaCare over the funding of the United States government.

As the government shutdown was imminent, Reid declared, “There’s no need for conversations.”  In effect, the President and Senator Reid have cut themselves off from participating in our constitutional republic when it comes to ObamaCare.

The Members of the House of Representatives who voted to defund and delay ObamaCare – and the army of grassroots Americans who don’t want ObamaCare and also don’t want a government shutdown – must be encouraged to stay the course!

At the end of the day, a temporary shutdown of the government, the 17th in recent history, is a small price to pay for stopping ObamaCare, a looming national disaster that could literally destroy our nation.  Please see my important update below – Mat.

Last weekend, while members of the House of Representatives hammered out a bill that would fund the government and delay the implementation of ObamaCare, President Obama golfed, Harry Reid attended a same-sex “marriage” ceremony, and many Democrat members of the Senate were nowhere to be found.

Reconvening at a leisurely 2:00 p.m. Monday, they toed the President’s line and quickly punted the House bill back to Speaker Boehner.

President Obama tweeted this morning, “The Affordable Care Act is moving forward. You can't shut it down."

“You can’t shut it down”?  Just who does this arrogant, tyrannical, despot of a president think he is?

Is he truly unaware that government funding is a power reserved by the Constitution to the Congress?

Yet the President has chosen to shut down the government to keep his “crowning achievement” moving forward, contrary to the will of a majority of Americans.

I purposefully chose the term “crowning” because right now Barack Obama is acting more like King Obama, reigning down dictates upon his subjects, rather than the elected leader of the Free World.

His complete unwillingness to participate in the give-and-take of our democracy is the epitome of arrogance, a level of condescension that boggles honest Americans’ minds.

Last night, Barack Obama told an NPR audience…

“I shouldn't have to offer anything…we're not going to delay the Affordable Care Act.”

++Interesting development: ObamaCare is broken on arrival!

As Americans try today to access the ObamaCare exchange sites, there are ongoing reports of widespread outages, errors, and inaccessibility.

This is part of the system that will house your most personal information.  We were warned by the Secretary of Health and Human Services that the system was not fully operational and/or may have “glitches” – yet the President will not delay the implementation of ObamaCare for the sole reason of protecting his reputation and his “crowning achievement.”

Here’s something we sometimes forget: ObamaCare was passed by the most scandalous process in the history of the United States Congress.  The only way it passed was through manipulation, bribery, overt deceit, and forcing votes before anyone had even read the bill’s content!

So, why is anyone surprised that the majority of Americans now want it gone and that die-hard liberal progressives refuse to give an inch in reasonable dialogue or compromise?

ObamaCare was born in disgrace and its defeat is worthy of every American patriot’s best efforts to Delay, Defund, and Defeat it!

Of course, we, the so-called “anarchists,” will be blamed for everything wrong with ObamaCare.  So be it. We stand in in the tradition of “anarchists” like Ronald Reagan, Theodore Roosevelt, Abraham Lincoln, and the Founding Fathers!

++We are acting on principle.

It is no exaggeration to say that the very survival of our nation is at stake in this battle over who we are as a people and how much power we will grant the federal government over the most personal choices we make in our lives.

That’s why it is crucially important to continue to flood Congress with a crystal clear message to Stay The Course!

We cannot and should not back down now. I believe this is still a winnable battle!
