Dear KATHY,

On Friday, President Obama received a letter stating that he's had "more than enough time" to review the Keystone XL pipeline, and the time was now to give his approval.

The letter, signed by all 45 Senate Republicans, read
(in part):

"Given the length of time your administation has studied the Keystone XL pipeline and the public's overwhelming support for it, you should nto further delay a decision to issue a presidential permit. ... We therefore, request that you issue the final presidential permit approving the pipeline as
soon as possible and tell us when we can expect your decision."

Following numerous impact studies and an open comments period early last year, it was expected that Obama would render a decision on the 2,000-mile conduit that could carry as much as 800,000 barrels of oil a day through North America.

However, as Sen. John Hoeven (R-ND) told The Hill, "[Obama] seems to want to defeat the project by perpetually delaying it. Every time we have tried to make a prediction he has disappointed us, so that is why we have to force a decision."

Every day that Obama delays approving the Keystone pipeline is a day we are more beholden to foreign oil. Every day Obama continues listening to environmentalists who are trying to drive us back into the Stone Age, as many as 9,000 Americans workers are idled, and billions in investment dollars are being sent elsewhere.
