Kathy,

The outpouring of support since Ben announced his presidential exploratory committee<http://email.bencarson.com/ct/26442658:25514337316:m:1:800211202:04A88F9149E1BD91230C72DB9B1DCC11:r> has been almost overwhelming -- and I wanted to take a minute to thank you.

Ben and I are not political people. We haven’t been dying to jump into the spotlight.

We have three wonderful sons and daughters-in-law, and now, two beautiful grandchildren as well. We have lived great lives and after Ben’s retirement, we were looking forward to spending a lot more time together.

But circumstances change, and we believe we are here now for a reason.

Ben is a man of deep faith and a quiet, humble strength. He can provide a new kind of leadership that I believe our country is ready for.

To know there are so many people just like you who have been willing to join us and contribute your hard-earned money truly means a lot.
